"Creatures of the Famine"

"Creatures of the Famine" (v překladu Bytosti hladomoru) je série obrazů vytvořené kombinovanou technikou, která představuje mé vnímání mých blízkých a zasazuje je do prostředí, které jim podle mě nejvíce sedí. Vyobrazení jejich břich - nezdravě vychrtlých - symbolizuje jejich hlad (touhu) po něčem v životě. Uvědomují si, že jejich čas v tomto vědomí je omezen, takže jediné, co mohou dělat, je spotřebovávat přírodní zdroje, vybrat si něco co milují a snažit se udělat změnu. To věčné hladovění - ať už po znalostech, dovednostech nebo lásce - pak tvoří svět kolem nich a jejich fyzické vlastnosti. Jelikož mě fascinovala představa vyjádření abstraktních nápadů a vášní v obraze, udělala jsem z toho téma pro svou maturitní práci.

"Creatures of the Famine" is a series of mixed media artworks which features my own perception of my closest friends in a setting I deem most fitting to them. The depiction of their stomachs - unhealthily thin - symbolizes their hunger for something they want out of life. They realize their stay in this consciousness is limited, so all they can do is drain the world of its resources, pick what they love the most and try to make a difference. The eternal starvation for more - be it knowledge, skill or love - is what creates the world around them and their physical features as well. Fascinated by the idea of depicting mostly abstract feelings and passions in image, I made it the topic of my graduation series.
